The Team is comprised of a broad range of people varying in age, experience and personality who combine to provide a friendly and caring environment. Many of our staff employed in full time posts have at least one year's experience at Grenville House, which gives added comfort to Teachers and Group Leaders who are welcomed by familiar faces each time they return with a new group.
We are also assisted by an established core of local Freelance instructors who form an excellent complement to the full time team.
Below is a brief outline of each team member to give you an idea of our make-up.

| Centre Manager - Kurt MockridgeIt is now over 10 years since starting in post at the Centre, taking him into the 3rd decade of his career in the Outdoors. During this time he has worked both in the UK and abroad in a variety of Centres building up a wide range of outdoor and management experience. Along the way he has gained various relevant coaching qualifications including, RYA Dinghy Coach and Advanced Powerboat Instructor, BCU Level 3 Kayak Coach and more recently became an APIOL mentor/moderator for the Institute for Outdoor Learning.

| Charity Secretary - Athina SavvaAthina joined the team as the Secretary in December 2008. She was born and bred in Brixham and her working background is in accountancy and finance. She is a part qualified ACCA and had worked as a Management Accountant for 12 years prior to joining Grenville House. Her current role is as the representative of the Directors in ensuring that Grenville House operates within its Company objectives efficiently, effectively and legally. As well as the day to day responsibilities, the job also includes liaising with many external organisations, for example, the Charity Commission, as well as the Company’s auditors, bankers and financial advisers. |

Office Administrator - Maureen 'Mo' OvertonMo is our newly appointed Administrator and is the new voice on the end of the phone when you call the office. She has lived in the Torbay area for the last 11 years, cannot imagine a nicer place to be and so she is here to stay.

| Housekeeper - Kay BarterProbably the Centre's greatest asset, Kay provides home cooking even on a large scale. Her exceptionally high standards have helped to develop a reputation for great food and superb domestic care among the groups coming to the centre. |

| Assistant Housekeeper - Cheryl LeamanCompleting the infamous mother and daughter team, Cheryl supports Kay in maintaining the high standards of Health and Hygiene provided by the Centre, with a friendly smile and helpful manner. |

| Duty Manager (Activities) - Darryll FarleyBorn and bred in Brixham, Darryll is the longest serving member of the Instructional team becoming the Deputy Manager in 2007. He is always popular with the school groups as well as the staff. His qualifications include RYA Dinghy, Keelboat and Powerboat Instructor, NCLA Cave Leader Level 1, MLTB SPA, and BCU Level 2 Kayak Coach. The charity has always been strongly linked to the sea and is extremely proud of Darryll being a member of the Brixham Lifeboat crew. |
| Instructor - Jennie FranklinVisited Grenville House on numerous occasions with her local Youth centre from Birmingham as both a participant and a youth leader. She recently completed the cycle by joining the Instructor team following a six week work experience programme in 2007. She currently maintains her contract with the Centre whilst completing a degree in Outdoor Education at MARJON in Plymouth enabling her to continue developing her coaching and outdoor experience in tandem with her studies. Jennie has boundless energy and enthusiasm for all aspects of Centre life which motivates staff and students alike, a product of her obvious care and passion for what she does. |
| Duty Manager (Maintenance) - Tom ColeTom has very quickly blended in as though he were a journeyman instructor rather than at the start of his career. His unassuming manner and calm, gentle approach is key to his ability to help students achieve, whatever the activity may be. He is now comfortably able to provide land and water based sessions including Kayaking, Rock sports (including Caving) and is currently working towards RYA Dinghy Instructor. His most recent achievement came in the form of RYA Powerboat Instructor. Now in his 4th year at the Centre Tom was promoted at the start of 2010 taking on the responsibility of overseeing the maintenance requirements of the Centre whilst aslo supporting the Deputy Manager on a day to day basis. |

| Instructor - Malcolm MercadoMalcolm has worked in both the Outdoor and Fitness worlds for many years acquiring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the process. He is at his most comfortable on the water and is becoming a land lubber as time passes, enabling him to lead a wide range of water and land based activities. His calm, assured manner creates the ideal environment for all in his care to achieve the most from their experiences. |
| Instructor - Aaron HuntAaron completed a National Diploma in Outdoor Education and then proceeded to gain experience in the Outdoor Sector working for two seasons in a Devon centre. His desire to pursue this line of work as a full time career brought him to Grenville House which has the added bonus of him being able to continue living in his hometown of Dartmouth and represent them at rugby for the first team. |
| Instructor - Rebecca 'Becky' GulliverBecky worked as a Football Development officer in North Yorkshire for 2 years after completing a degree in Physical Activity, Exercise and Health. Her desire to be outside then led her to South Devon in 2007 where she has worked in the Outdoors ever since. She is a keen climber and paddler having gained her UKCC Level 2 coach amongst other NGB awards. More recently she has been focusing on gaining her SPA award. She also loves any kind of cheese except for goats'. |
| Instructor - Monique DecrindHaving reached a point where she felt life had more to offer and linked to a desire to move back home from Wales where she spent the last 10 years Monique completed an intensive Instructor training course. Although relatively new to the Outdoor sector she fits it like a glove and has settled in to the team as though she were a veteran. |
Instructor - Mark McIntoshMark joined the team in June looking to build a foundation of experience on which he can base his future career. He has worked in a couple of other centres since he completed his Certificate in Sport Education (Outdoor) in 2009.

The Charity is overseen by a Management Committee of ten Trustee/Directors who meet on a monthly basis as required. The main purpose of this group of volunteers is to direct the manner in which the Charity meets its' objects and to ensure that it remains financially secure.
